Holidays in UAE our opportunity for expats to relax and enjoy. And one of the best way to spend it is staying in a hotel near the beach.
And since budget is one of the main concern, I opt to consider coupon deals. You'll be fortunate if you could find a deal applicable during holidays.
And I did!
Since the offer is quite good, tempting and "swak sa budget"; one night stay with breakfast for 2 adults, early check in and late check out, recreational activities such as basketball, volleyball, billiards, table tennis, swimming pool, playground and kid's play area for only 222 AED; I tought of buying 4 coupons immediately for my family without checking the location or even consulting my husband for the location.
Well anyway, Abu Dhabi is just 2 hours away from Ajman right?!
And so, our call time is 9 am but left at 11 am, planning to watch the "Gilas" in the evening.

Who's excited? |
Finally when everyone realized that it'll be 4 to 5 hours drive (not 2 hours! huhu!) from Ajman and 2 hours away from the "Gilas" show, complains arise. That time, I just want to reach the hotel, let the day pass and move on from that mistake. Or maybe, forget about everything we spend and think about other plans.
11 AM became 11:30 AM since we have to change our car to a bigger one.
And there... we started our long journey.
Though everyone, tried to be sensitive and not complain, I still felt the guilt.
1 hour...
2 hours...
3 hours... we started to notice the big trucks along with us.
4 hours passed and finally we reached Gayathi City!
|
Welcome to Ghayathi, Abu Dhabi (a place near Abu Dhabi border) |
From this part, we started to appreciate the place as it is well managed. There were trees and decorated bushes from side to side.
4 and a half hours... and we reached WESTERN HOTEL.

Western Hotel (formerly Ghayathi Hotel) |

Basketball Area |
|
Kid's playground |
Everything changed as soon as we reached there.
One of their staff immediately came with the trolley and assist us with our bags.
Upon engineering the lobby, we were welcomed by a cool towel and drinks to freshen up.

Ladies enjoying their drinks. Cheers! |
Upon check-in, we were informed that we need to pay an extra tourism fee per room which is around 35 AED (not bad!). Hence, our rooms are upgraded from standard to deluxe room.
We were immediately being assisted to our rooms.
The rooms are just so amazing. (I've learned that they've just renovated their rooms). So clean and classy. It has welcome fruits, toiletries are complete and each room has 2 pairs of slippers and a bath robe.
Before going for a swim, we went to the recreational room and played table tennis and billiards.
On the opposite room is the children's play area where FREE food is served. (Hotel's treat to Kid's in celebration of the Islamic New Year.) There's pasta, fish fillet, french fries, minnie pizza, popcorns, cookies, chocolates and fruits sticks to deep in the chocolate fountain. All for FRRRREEEEEE!!!! While different movie is played in the projector screen, kids can play with the tents set-up in the room.
Of course we didn't let the night pass without going for a swim to what they call "The Blue Lagoon."
Upon reaching there, the staff gave each of us a towel.
I would like to commend their lifeguards for doing their job pretty well too.

Enjoying the water so much! |

The "Bakasyonistas" |
The common dilemma in pools in the UAE is its cleanliness. But I can say that theirs is exceptional. As a result, it is not only the kids who enjoyed it but also the adults.
Then after some more game in the recreational area, we all headed up to our rooms and rest.

Sleep tight my babies. |
The next day, while waiting for Deuel to wake up and for Daddy to finish his work out, me and Kuya Duke went for a swim before heading to breakfast.
The food was great. (I wish I could have taken some photos) They have pretty much of everything, from breads, cereals, rice, sausage, egg, bacon, different kinds of fruits and live omelet cooking, everything is just so amazing.
After breakfast, we went to swim a little more and prepared to leave the place.
|
Enjoying the pool for the last time |
|
Thumbs up! for the Hotel and staff of Western Hotel |
To sum it up, although the place is too far, we all ended up not wanting to leave the place and wishing to come back for a 2 days stay.
|
Bye for now! |
|
Till our next visit |
|
Enjoying their take home popcorns, cookies and chocolates! |
I would definitely recommend this to anyone and suggest to at least stay there for a couple of days.
Now, back to reality.
